i am preparing for 2007 match and in the middle of collecting all the necessary documents. I have a principals's/Dean letter of recomendation which is a one page document with 4-5 paragraphs. Is it enough or should i try to get that new document known as Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), (which will be hard for me to get).
Another thing is my principals letter is dated in dec 2001. Can i still use it?
I have been out of practice since my graduation so my only source of LOR"S are my teachers in med school. I would ask them to write me LOR's but i am confused wouldnt it look weird that my teachers remember me after 5 yrs of graduation and writing me LOR (should i convice them to back date that LOR?)...please help me i need to finish this business and get it done with while i am here in my country.

an lor can be dated recently - eras technically refuses lors more than 2yrs old.. it doesnt necessary to be written in the time period when u worked. ur deans letter in non mspe format is fine.

does eras refuse lors 2 yrs + older, or do certain programs refuse to upload old lors?...2 of my lor are dated in jun'04...does this mean i have to contact my medical school to have this re-dated?

want a suggestion... get undated lors - i date my lors myself - just keep multiple copies.. or try this trick - use white ink on the date and change the year and rexerox it - u wont recognise the difference and no1 is going to check with ur professor - nor is he going to counter u.
i know this another politically incorrect pearl not to be shared publicaly.. i didnt need to do it personally - use in times of exteme personal crisis only.. and dont tell eras i told u so..
its bcoz for img the lor from back home hardly counts and is very painful to get.. been there and done that..
2yr old lors its a rule in the eras handbook i believe - althoh my memory could be failing me. check it out.. also i know seniors who applied with >5yr old lors and matched - so dont worry
