13 y.o boy with 6 loose BM with blood with abdominal cramps on a daily basis for the past 3 months.

He has one bowel movement during the night.

Which one of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

1.ulcerative colitis

2. salmonella gastroenteritis

3. giardiasis

4. colonic polyp

5. camplylobacter gastroenteritis

ulcerative colitis normally starts around adolescence and teenage years.

But in reality, it is very difficult to differenitate between UC and CD from age 13-17.

It may take 6 -8 months to make the definite diagnosis
