for those who have done Kaplan step 2 and kaplan step 3 notes. are those the same or is there any difference between the 2. someone told me they were same word for word.

they r diff.
Kaplan step 2 notes much better
if u have time do both
both r not enough for the exam. u need to do UW or Swanson Family medicine with them

Hi Kaplan step 2 and step 3 materials are more or less the same, but they are different in presentation. Step 2 is more comprehensive of the two, and Kaplan believes that who ever is using Kaplan step 3 materials for the preparation have already used step 2 ones, for their step2 preparation. Step 3 materials are more on the management(quite correctly) and coupled with videos they form one of the highest-yield study materials. USMLEWORLD is developed and prepared by the students, and most of the questions are either appeared in exam already, or the ones which are developed based on Kaplan material.(With the sole idea of memorizing the material-which I must admit, is quintessential)So, Kaplan & USMLEWORLD are morethan enough to pass the exam. SWANSON.......hmm....It is a two inch thick text. It is a teaching text with somany questions designed to teach you the subject.Most of the questions you know anyway, and are not designed to test yourself. To put in Elmar Sakala's( of Kaplan fame)words, " YOU REALLY DONT NEED IT, UNLESS YOU ARE REALLY ANAL"!! Most people restrict themselves to Kaplan&UW, (who has time anyway?) and score well. Make your own conclusions!!!!
