I'm not quite uptodate with this. i have received my orange permit a while ago;no cd yet;haven't set an exam date. what should i do to extend my period/ just wait until it ends and then plan for the exam again? thank you.

are you extending just bc you didn't get the cd?

if you're extending bc you're not prepared - then don't fret, within your 3 month block you can move your exam as many times as you like, without a fee (so long as it's a short number of days before the exam date).

if, however, you are planning to go beyond your 3 month block, then for a small fee (I think $50) to ECFMG, you can extend into the block that is directly after the one you are currently scheduled in. (ex - if your current block is may-june-july you can only extend to august-sept-october ---> in which, you can again jump around inside that 3 motnh block). beyond the next block, you'll have to pay for a whole other exam.

good luck!

thank you. I hope this extending won;t be mentioned anywhere on the documents with results.

i'm not sure - but i can almost 100% assure you that extensions shouldn't go againts you...scheduling conflicts arise, emergencies happen...i'm willing to bet that at least 80% of the people who have signed up for the exam have rescheduled it at some time or another...don't worry - think now only of your exam and nothing else! good luck!
