i am havin some trouble getting this concept down. why when you decrease TPR, do you also decrease venous return? If you have more blood leaving the heart from the decreased TPR shouldnt the preload be increased?

When TPR is decreased its mean that vessel are more compliant and can accommodate blood in in so less bloos will return to the heart and decreased preload.

increasing the tpr doesnt trap blood in the arterial system...decreasing tpr does. guess that helps
