Dear all, I am a non-american med4 student (IMG) who recently scored 83 on STEP1 (first attempt). I am kinda depressed. Should I lose all hope? Is presenting step2 ck,cs, doing some US experience all a waste of time with my low step1 score? Any +/- decent program (surely not top) accept IMGs with that low score? The programs I am interested in are Internal medicine, emergency medicine. I know you all have been asked this many times, but I would appreciate your help on this matter as I am really frustrated and don't know what to do. Thanks in advance.

Do not lose heart buddy... Just pull up your socks and do your best on Step 2. Believe me... getting a residency is not impossible... Read Gabriel's post "This is my story from step 1 to residency" on this forum. It should lift your spirits up. Remember, defeat is not in falling down, but in staying down.

Thank you for your words of encouragement xavier! So I still have a chance if i score well on step2? Any IMG out here who entered a decent program with a score like mine on step1? I really appreciate and look forward for your inputs. Thank you.
