hello friends ,i need advice for these weeks ,i havent done the goljan audios ..when should i take nbme ? n how can i keep my stress low n study intelligently!!

Do NBME when u have studied everything (FA, q-bank and kaplan). Taking NBME to see where u are at, will lower ur anxiety if u are passing, if u are not,, then u know what to work on, best of luck.

7 weeks !!!!..long way to go dude....utilise ur time effectively.....dont lose out on precious time by freaking out or becoming too tense....moderate levels of anxiety r okay and actually help u review the materila faster.....try to listen to the goljan audios atleast once especiaaly hemat.....i cud answer 10-12 q on my exam i think just bcoz i listened to the great man...opinions vary a lot on this forum regardin goljan but his audios worked big time 4 me.....do nbme after goin thru the material atleast twice and the q bank/q book....see where r u headed!!!!

good luck

hi, macrolide, i m also taking step I in about 7 weeks. we are in the same boat.

to prader-willi and mavis, yeah, it is a good point to take nbme after reviewing all the material. how many nbme should we take? what about the kaplan one that comes with Q-bank and USMLE sample questions? When do you do them? Thanks.

hi voicecc, good to hear from u ! my energy level is getting low now ,i want to get over with the exam asap but with good scores inshallah.

  #8

thanks PW ,for ur support .when do u think i should take the mbme?

read the notes thoroughly....no. of times is irrelevant.....be comfortable with the concepts....remember in the heat and stress of the exam u hardly have time to think and ponder over something......if u vr read the material well, even if the q is twisted u ll learn to look thru it and get the answer.....as 4 the nbme......do either form 2 or 3(my class fellows tell me form 1 is too easy and form 4 is too tough relative to the exam.....i personally took form 2 20 days before the exam ).....take it with a few days left 4 the exam....i say 20 days is enuf......the crucial part about the nbme is the report card...it points out ur weak areas.....iron out these areas....study these subjects like crazy in the last few days...u ll notice that ur becoming more confident with the matter.....if stiil feel insecure take another form about 4-5 days before....u ll surely see a quantum jump in ur performance and ur confidence.....provided u ve utilised ur time well and havent messed up in ur strong areaswink.......chill guys....believe me 7 weeks is a long time and u can do wonders to ur final score with smart diligent and well directed study.....also NEVER LET THE STRESS AND ANXIETY GET TO U TOO MUCH ...IT WILL KILL UR EFFICIENCY.....although i always believe a lil bit of anxiety always helps!!!! good luck

kaplan q bank is pretty good to consolidate wat u ve read and understood from ur notes....difficulty level is similar to the exam ....although a few were too easy and some too bizarre!!!!....styling of exam q very similar to the usmle cd although quite a few q were a lil tuff relative to the cd..i did the cd in last week before the exam...no q from the cd on my exam.godd luck hope this helps
