Let me explain to you and this is a very important concept and how to tach the Mom.

The issue here is overdiagnosis and dyslexia is one of them. The other is ADDH.

In children around 4 or 5 years old, they can present with so-called reversal of letters in some middle-class or lower-middle class family.

This is not dyslexia but a worried Mom can bring the child to you.

The real reason is the poor spelling of the child and has nothing to do with the neurological deficit and diagnosis of dyslexia of the child.

A better training of the letters will correct this problem later on

A child around 4 or 5 will reverse the latters and this is normal behavior especially for boys !

Spend some time with the Mom to explain to her how to teach the kid about spelling and follow up in one-three months.

Don't over-diagnosis dyslexia and ADDH.

Reversal of letters in a 10, 11, 12 years old may be abnormal but 4 or 5 years old is perfectly normal.
