Which functions most like a macrophage? (and why?)

a) neutrophil

b) eosinophil

c) basophil

d) platlet

e) red blood cell

well macrophages have three main functions: phagocytosis, antigen presentation, and cytokine production. of the above options neutrophils share the phagocytosis function but don't present antigen and don't produce cytokines. the others i don't think so, so i'll go with A. seems like a trick question....is it?

good explanation- neutrophils like "marines" are known to meander or maraud and be the first to phagocytize an antigen. {no, this particular one was not suppose to be a trick q}
