Why "high expending pressures" and "increase of pulmonary venous pressure" can decrease lung compliance?

increase pulm venous pressure  more leak into the interstitium  stiff lung , hence cant expand  low compliance

Any thing can be expanded only to a certain extent and beyond that limit, it will resist. So at high expanding pressures (or very negative IPP), the lung compliance decreases (or rather becomes plateau).. that is why the curve is straight and not rising.

Thanks
