A 5-year-old boy is evaluated by his pediatrician because of fatigue, nausea, and lightheadedness brought on when meals are skipped. Physical examination reveals hepatomegaly. Laboratory results indicate lactic acidosis, hyperlipidemia, elevated serum uric acid, and marked hypoglycemia. Administration of fructose does not result in conversion to glucose. Other than the liver, which of the following organs would be expected to be enlarged? Click on the circle next to your answer choice A. Brain B. Heart C. Kidney D. Skeletal muscle E. Spleen

but this could be Von gierke's !! everything is classic for that, even when you give Fructose, Galactose, Epinephrine or Glucagon you still can not raise the [Glu] plus the hyperuricemia and gout is more common in Von Gierke's. so is Hyperlipidemia. i think this can enlarge the kidney because Gluconeogenesis also happens in renal medulla too. (just a thought) besides Fructose intolerance caused Fanconi-like syndrome not RENOMEGALLY !! guys correct me if i am wrong.
