step 2 ck is known for both. it may shock you or surprise you.Most have feeling of somewhat shocked after exam but most of them become surprised when result comes. this is what I have heard about step 2.I am having same feeling.I appeared for exam with confidence .reason ? NBME test result. I had got 510 in NBME1 .550 in 2 ,630 in 3.[ 3,2,1 week before exam ]But step 2 is not that easy. It test not only your knoweledge & reasoning but also your physical & mental stamina. some of the q has has 14 to 21 options as possible answer. From A to W!!!
wants to know difficulty level of q? standard answer is somewhat easy than UW & somewhat difficult than kaplan. But I would say it is somewhat different than both.thosands of pemutation & combination produces endless number of clinical situation. step 2 asks about that. some q are easy but most are not. what about myself? I got two easy block. 5 block was o.k. one was difficult.
Never ran sort of time because never wasted a second in identifing q which I do not know. research has shown that longer the time you take to answer the q ,the greater the chances that you will answer it wrong.Saved few minutes in each block for taking break & mentally preparing for next block!!!. that is my way.I am reassuring my self not to worry because I got 630 in nmbe. 78% correct in kaplan q bank., 63% in UW.
My ploblem is usmle does not want to consider all this facts.
Anyway I am ready for any of both options.

Dear srf! I'm sure You'll receive high score coz you, guys, srf, frontal, achilles, determine, msyamp, yasmeen, p53 and few others on my mind, are good, smart, bright, agile, determined, driven...!!
Just try not to think about results...till they arrive in the mail.

Thank you srf for sharing your experience. You're right, the usmle is also a test of one's stamina, both physical and mental. And that is why it is so important to take these practice tests. Only knowing enough does not guarantee a good score. I find it amazing how you guys manage to sit through 8 or 9 hours (with just those almost-not-there breaks) without losing focus. One of these days I will take a simulated test too, if only to know my weaknesses better. I think you made the most of that research! Good luck for the great score that you deserve.

hey srf, just look at your nbme scores man !! i am sure you will be celebrating in 3 weeks from now when you get your well deserved good(wish you a 99) score...and you are right about the stamina part...this exam is tough in the sense that you have to be focused at all the times without a break for 8 hrs...its the timing that is so imp. but i am sure you have done gr8 and the way you answered all your questions here. good luck for a gr8 score.

Could you tell me if, for the qs with many choices, you had a general idea of what they are lookin gfor and had to just look for the answer? Meanig were they easier? Were the choices alphabetical?

to 3535 about my preparation I studied for four months. first two months UW PLUS KAPLAN notes than 1 month kaplan online q bank last month for NBME tests & improving weak areas.
to amygdalaa . multiple choices are not difficult,but choices were not alphabetical ,I suppose.In fact I never tried to look at it that way. I thought I knew the answer but when I started looking for it starting from A to J I could not find it, then I started from w to h I find it somewhere in between.so pratically I had to read all the options.

I asked because I noticed that in the sample cd, those qs were relatively easier and the choices were in alphabetical order. So I thot they were giving us a break :-)

just did oasis trick.found that they have reported my score.tried to reapply for ck.but they rejected my reapplication.what a plesant rejection!

congratulations srf, you will definitely get a good score.i am also waiting for my results , i took exam on 5th May. can i do oasis trick now or i should wait. my exam was on friday does it mean that it will be more delayed.

HI diyamirzah,
my exam was on saturday ,probably that is why my oasis update took little longer time.your case seems to be the same. please wait for some time. there is no point in doing IWA before oasis update inform you that they have sent your score.IWA will take your application & you will experience pseudo failure.

got my result. it is 97/241.what more can I expect?

your good wishes & support has made this possible. I owe much to you all & also to many others who took active part in discussion of ck forum,I am plannig to write a retrospective diary of my ck exam after cs exam,
I wanted my result earlier so I changed my address a week before to nj, it took only a day there, oasis updated 26 may, score sent date 24 may post received 26 may.
