The clinical importance of knowing about reynolds triad is that its appearance may change the therapeutic conduct.

With the simple Charcotīs triad, the therapeutic aproach would be medical treatment to "cool down" the patienīs clinical status, providing a 24 hs window to perform a biliary drainage through ERCP.

If you have Reynoldīs pentad, the case is transformed into an urgency; you wonīt have time to stabilize prior to decompresion, and biliary drainage should be done a.s.a.p. :!:
