spasticity- results from an UMN lesion..there is resistance to any passive movements at the begining of the movement which then later gives way to more easy movement rigidity- there is resisatnce to passive movement throughout the motion...

"spasticity is due to lack of inhibition of gamma motor neuron while rigidity is due to lack of inhibition of alpha motor neuron" i read this somewhere, is it correct??

also i think "Spasticity" is a Pyramidal lesion whereas "Rigidity" is an Extra-pyramidal lesion (Parkinson) is that rigth?
