A newborn ahs strabismus. Which of the following is the rationale for correcting during early childhood.

1. Cataract formation is more likely in the misaligned eyes

2. Neitehr eye will develop normal monocular vision

3. Normal binocular vision will develop

4. retinal ganglion cells in the temporal hemiretinas will degenerate

5. separate reperesntaions of the retina will develop in each visual cortex
