Well Medicaid is for the people who live below poverty line in US standards.Medicare for elderly.I think this everybody knew. But Medicare doesnot cover Nursing home services. Those people who are out of resources even people who have medicare will be covered for 3 months under medicaid for nursinghome services. Nursing home is mostly used by the people who wants extended hospital stay depends upon their seriousness of illhealth or injury and by the elderly people. The major difference between the Medicare and Medicaid is Medicaid is state and federal sponsored program.Where as Medicare is purely federal sponsored program. I think Iam clear frontal

Why Medicare because Medicaid is eventually paid through Medicare through a complicated formula of the state's wealth. Medicare will now cover medication and eliminate the need for medicaid to pay for senior medication. This just changes last Fall and will not be in your textbook or examination George Bush and the Congress passed the law last Fall and started paying medication and many other things, Since Medicare is the federal program so it only "centralizes" ALL the payment now. it is not in the book yet and will wait for the new edition to pay out. Medicaid no longer pay a lot of things because the Federal Government is directly paying those expenses since last September, 2005 !

Well Medicare covers Elderly and disabled accepted.Medicare which even the new one launched does not cover longterm care.Well longterm care includes Nursing care,Residential care,Home health care. Most of the elderly use longterm care.Elderly population is the Major section of population in US.Hence by the answer it goes Medicaid If yu have any doubts about refer to www.medicare.gov
