Hello everyone, I took the exam on dec 10th and tried to apply using oasis which initially did not let me through saying I have already registered. yesterday however I tried to apply and it let me do so through to fees even though my oasis had not reported my results. My understanding it that oasis only reports when the result is mailed out to you but the system knows the PASS/FAIL result before that....am I correct. How soon can I repeat my exams? isnt it more difficult to pass the second time around?? Thanks for responding.

hey cheer up, although i know it seems unrealisitic in your situation. n i am not just someone giving advice. i am a very hard working good student who did really well in medical school n all my academic years since i was a kid. i never though i would fail. but i did, i failed step2 first in nov2002 with score of 72, then i tried again n took it again in june 2003 n didnt make it either. i am studying again n planing on taking it this month. i feel like that my life is been still forever, i am not moving forward. i scored 72 on two point scale both times! although i improved on three digit scale but they changed the requirement on three point scale after may2003 so that didnt help. anywas my advice is be down for coupla days max, cry whatever makes u feel better n then gather your books n try again. when u get your score, u will find out areas that u did bad in, so concentrate on those areas. never give up. it will happen for u if u really want it answer to question u can repeat the exam whenever u want, ecfmg doesnt pose any restrictions. i wish u all the luck n i hope u make it the next time, just keep studying n try to stay happy, talk to your friends who understand

Hi, i am in exactly the same position as you are, they must love that number 72. I just found out that i failed again in mid-december and now i'm going to start studying again, what do you suggest? last time i did the kaplan video highlights, Rx for the boards, pretest questions in each subject, Qbank- I did it all, now i'm lost and i don't know what to do to pass this time. i would appreciate any help you could give me. thanx

Hi guest, this is the guest who replied before. I would call myself guest #1. Anyways so its a bit relief to know there are other ppl out there who are getting 72 twice, though its not a good position to be at. I would never wish anyone that. I did kaplan video highlights, kaplan's big video lecture book, kaplan q book, q bank, crush the boards, first aid. I thought kaplan qbank & crush the boards help me the most, I actually thought i passed for sure after i took the exam the first time. I got 163/72 Second time around, I got blue prints, underground clinical vignettes, kaplan's audio detailed lectures, ditched first aid, kept crush the boards, did q book n q bank n pre-test q. I felt my knowledge was really expanded this time. but exam felt much harder, although I did knew more. I didnt have such great feeling. I was much more nervous as I had failed earlier. I got 176/72 So now I am studying again doing all kinda questions plus I have the kaplan lecture notes & crush the boards. I am doing blue prints questions for step2 & 3, kaplan cd, q book, q bank for step2 &3, nms q, mock exam. I am scoring good so far. Hoping to stay focus n pass this time. Let third time be my charm Good luck to u

hello guest #1, thanx for replying so soon. i appreciate the advice. I also got 176/72 last time. when are you going to take the exam again? where do you live? today i just learned about a website called mcqs.com which has unlimited questions for 38 euros for 1 month. I think i will start tomorrow with the blueprints books, and i'll do the kaplan video highlights again because i thought they were good. i wish i knew what i could do to guarantee that i would pass this time. :?

Hi guest#2 I live in newyork. Yeah I wish I knew what to do different to pass this time. But I have learned something, that I just dont have to know more, just memorize really really well whatever I already know & be fast. So I am just concentrating on that. yeah more questions are always good. I will check out the site you mentioned. will you please tell me how good the questions were: easy, hard, good for exam? I am planning on taking the exam end of this month!! God help me. Good luck to all second & third timers out there. Keep studying
