To study the psychiatric morbidity of Turcot's syndrome, all patients with the syndrome being treated in the city, as identified by medical records, were interviewed by a research team. A control group matched for age, sex and socio-economic status was also interviewed. This is an example of which one of the following?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> 1) prospective cohort study 2)case control study 3)cross-sectional prevalence survey 4)lifetime prevalence study 5)census survey

Well mesh and determine Case control study does not measure the prevalence.Cohort study is used to measure the prevalence. But here the Ques is about morbidity Nothing but prevalence of turcot syndrome.Hence it is 3.It is also called as Retrospective cohort study.

Cross-section study is the study of exposure of an indentified risk factor and the disease at a cross-section (means at one point of their disease) What it means :cross-section study------------> means the pravalence of the disease at one point and also the exposure risk of the disease Cross-section does not measure the incidence but the prevalence of the risk of exposure and the pravalence of the disease The answer is ?

All Turcot patients----->interviewed by a research group in "linterviews"---------> how------------>based on medical records to choose those groups of patients---------->idenitifed on medical records if they have Turcot Syndrome--------?then ask if they have psychiatric problem Here you measure the prevalence of the psychiatric illness among the Turcot patients. Then you compare with a matched age, sex, and socio-economic groups without Turcot (no diseases, remember , no diseases and see if they have psychiatric illness. Cross-section pravalence study. Remember, cross-sectional study is the study of the prevalence of the exposure to risk amd the prevalence of the disease

You have cases of Turcot being compared to control patients without the disease. Which makes it....TA-DAAA a case-control study
