hi guys

thanks a lot for your help & support. I am indebted to share my exam exprience as i learnt a lot from you. hope my expeience will help others. I am an old IMG and a silent observer/user of this forum. gave my exam on 30 march got result on 22nd april.got 92%.my nbme 1was 520,nbme2- 500 one month before the exam. nbme3-490.one week before the exam.

although i didnt sleep night before the exam,i didnt feel sleepy during the exam, exam keeps you awake! I took small breaks after every 2 blocks.

most questions were odd & long, only 2-3 questions were two liners/block. most questions were of experimental type, cell biology, few histo, genetics & few pharmac, biochem, behavior very few patho physiology . preventive medicine & some gynacology were included I was bit nervous in the begining but just took long breaths & hoped for better questions in next blocks, kept myself calm. i just got i min left for calculations, 1-2 calculations questions/block. i didnt spend too much time on calculations just read ques and if got some clues then clicked on that ans otherwise just cliked randomnly on an option & marked it. at the end of each block I had approx one min left i used that minute for calculations. after the exam wasnt sure how well i had done & even thought that i might not pass the exam. during this waiting for result time, our prayers & support of my husband helped me a lot.

if i could tell you one thing from my experience then it would be to just keep calm during the exam, dont worry how you did in privious block focus on next one.

in my opinion, exam is all about concepts & it's applications, so preparing acordingly helps.

i am sure, you can do it. all the best. god bless you all.

hi guys

i used kaplan, goljan & wander through some texts for further reading. fortunately which helped me to answer few odd ques like BMI,some renal, preventive medicine . exam tests the concepts . even though u know the concepts to apply u have to think due to tricky ques construction time is the major factor u tempted to think but avoid that in the begining asu dont know the length of other ques u are going to get if u get long ques then time managment is problem which was in my case. so better try to attempt in time & mark it later u can think & change the ans if you have time. u will be able to complete the block too.
