I am not living in USA, if I get an observership position , shall i show that letter to embassy officer to have more chance to get a visa(B)?

no idea about that, but you only need a B1/B2 visa to the observership, i doubt it could influence in the decision of the embassy to give you the visa.

yes.you can file a petition to extend it and that information you find it in the oficial website of us immigration http://www.uscis.gov...if you register for step2cs in your country you will get a letter from the people of ecfmg saying your US embassy in your country that you need to be in the us for this exam...and you can use this letter for a visa oe maybe for requesting an externsion...I did that and worked

I have not applied for observership yet, but I have one application in my hand, I have registered for CS, and I am going to get US on B-visa, then I will extend my visa status by taking CS, and paticipating in match and taking. I want to apply firstly for match, meanwhie I do observership or research or if I'll be lucky, externship. But I am still worried about what is the process if I want to go on J or H ( after step3), when my visa is going to be expired. I have an appointment to embassy in july. everything related to this first INTERVIEW! Dear Pete31, Thank you, could you please tell me the page for visa extension in that site.
