Methylphenidate was previously used in treating obesity ,currently used for hyperactive children, has abuse pottential. NALTREXONE Asmi is correct, according to Goodman /Gilman-it blocks some of the reinforcing properties of ETOH and has resulted in decrease rate of relapse to ETOH drinking in double blind trials, it was approve in 1994 for opiate dependence.
