Well, All I can tell you is what I learnt from my experience of watching the Kaplan videos and mistakes I made.
I think this ceterprep course is best if you don’t like to spend time with the books too much or you have problem in keeping focused during studying. You don’t need to study the subjects before you start the videos however if you do it would be better.
I suggest that before choosing a center make sure you can have as much time as you want with the videos, talk to Kaplan people about it, this is important. You ll need to spend 6-7 hrs everyday in the center.
Always keep notes (Kaplan lecture notes) with you to refer to figures etc, but don’t try to read them during a video.
If you get along well with other people try to find a partner, it ll help.
Plan to watch videos once and repeat only the HY videos as it takes a long time to repeat all the videos.
Don’t try to make notes or anything during a video as everything they talk is in the notes.
After each video relax for few minutes and go thru the figure they explained in the video. In some subjects they only go by figures, not text esp. physio, mb & biochem.
At the end of each chapter, don’t forget to do the questions. This is very important and ll help you remember a lot of things later on.
At the end of the day take some time out and revise everything you went thru during that day.
Don’t try to memorize everything, try to get the whole picture. However the things that need memorization they ll tell you during the video, eg amino acid classification etc, give it a few minutes after the video, don’t keep it for some other day.
I liked physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharm and behavior. Immunology and microbiology are avg. I don’t think pathology is worth watching, its better to spend that time in revising some HY videos. I ll suggest pathology from Goljan.
I am not exactly sure about the total number of videos but it might take more than 2 months to finish all them, it depends on how much time you give every day. The duration of videos is different for each subject. On the avg. physio videos are 30-40 min, biochem/mol. bio., micro ~ 60min, Immuno, pharm and behavior are longer ~ 90-120mins.
I started with physio followed by mb and biochem, then behavior, immuno micro and pharma.
Good luck.

Hi IMGPK,
After reading your description about kaplan centerprep...I am so confused now !...because before this I was planning to join web prep, but now it seems there is no use of joining web prep ( kaplan centerprep looks much better ! )...But, there is no kaplan center here, where I live ? ...so,please help me and tell me more if you know the difference between web and centerprep ? i will really appreciate . Waiting for your reply.
ThankYou.

I didnt want to creat any confusion, though I understand its natural to get confused when you already have plans for preparation and then you get information about something else, for the same reason I didnt want to post this information on the forum and I offered it only to the people who were going for centerprep.

Lets make one thing clear here, kaplan courses are not end of the world and they are not only way to pass the exam. I know many people who took kaplan and failed and even more who didnt go to kaplan and got good scores. Kaplan website gives information what course is better for what kind of people I think if you go thru that you may find your answers.

About is it worth spending money, I really cant tell. Money's worth is a very subjective thing, so lets not go there. What I can tell is that I benefitted from watching the videos however I cant really tell if you d benefit from it too, only you can decide that yourself.

You sound knowledgeable. From where did you learn about all of these things from? Where were you able to watch the videos?
