Hey, guys, I have some confusion with Kaplan set of prep material and Goljan ones. Please help me out For Kaplan, there are video course, Kaplan book, live lecture, and lecture notes. However, when people wrote down their resouces, they only write down "kanplan" without indicating either only one of these or combination of several of these. And, among course, book, lecture and notes, which one is the best? Are they covering the same content? For Goljan, does his audio cd only include pathology or also has other subjects? Does high yield notes belong to Goljan? When people mention about high yield, do they mean high yield notes or anything else (I don't know if there are high yield books...)? Is Rapid Review Series the same as high yield note? Any other material given out by Goljan? Last question, there are diffenrent editions and publish years of these prep materials. Does it matter if I only get the earlier-year edition? or I'd better get the newest ones? I appreciate your clarification. Thanks!

i will try to answer as much as i can first when people mention kaplan they are usually referring to kaplan lecture notes which are seven books that are given when you take one of their many different courses, but they can be purchased on ebay or handed down. qbank is also kaplan's with over 2000 practice questions. i recommend getting at least the 2005 edition of lecture notes though people have done well studying from 2002 editions. goljan's lectures are mostly path but he does a lot of integration with biochem, physiology, micro and pharm. the high-yield notes are subject wise but i can't say if their any good or not since i haven't studied from them. his path notes are 500pages and include general and systemic sections. they are similar but more detailed than his rapid review book. the rapid review book is not the high-yield notes. i'm not sure what year the goljan stuff is from since his audios are bootlegged and his notes are photocopies. sometimes when people mention high-yield they are referring not to goljan stuff but the books in the high-yield series: best ones are neuroanatomy, gross anatomy, embrio, histo, cell & molecular bio. they just came out with a high-yield comprehensive review which i was looking thru a couple days ago and its pretty nice but kinda weak in path.

Thank u, malaise. I spent the whole afternoon to figure out which is which. Hehe, I should have checked back here earlier anyway, I think the high yield series you mentioned above are from Ronald W., Ph.D. Dudek, right? I'm going to buy these books. Just want to make sure.
