hi,
i'd like to know if Acid-base balance is really high yield ?
Should we be going through --
High-Yield Acid-Base (High-Yield) (Paperback)
by J. Craig Longenecker
or should the kaplan chapter on Acid Base in physiology suffice?
would appreciate everybody's input

yes, acid-base is important, but how much they are asking - I'm not sure about this.
I have read 'High-Yield Acid-Base' during my preparation but it seems to me that it's overkilled for step 1 - especially formulas for determining triple disorders - I haven't got ANY physiologic formula or calculation on my step 1 - though I'm not sure that acid-base chapter in the 'Kaplan LN: Physiology' would be sufficient.
I'm not admirer of Goljan's but acid-base chapter in his 'STARS Pathology' was really helpful.
You can also try to read this chapter in other physiology books - though it's weak in Ganong and Costanzo.

I dont have the Goljan Stars Pathology
i heard there are 2 of them --
--Goljan Stars pathology - 500 pages
OR
---Goljan Stars apthology Review - 300 pages
Which one are you reffering to ?
Do let me know , as i am yet to get them

'STARS Pathology', 1998, and 'STARS Pathology Review', 1998, are out of print - now, in print is Goljan's 'Rapid Review: Pathology', 2004:
