hi i am an img with step1 217/87 ve scheduled step2ck on aug 8 and ck on sept 25th as those were the dates i could manage.i am looking at i.m i match2007,ve no usce or lors,plan to try for usce in oct.i ve a couple of qs for u.
1. is the scheduling of my exams alright.do u think i need to make any changes?
2. i ve spoken to many people and havent got the right answers so could u please tell me what i need to do strengthen my cv and how do u recommend i shld go about it keeping in mind my exam dates.
3. also where does one stand with a score of 87 and what shld be the step 2 score i shld be targeting.i also hear pple tell me that step1 scores are most important.please clarify this point
i am sorry i have asked u so many qs but i hope u will help me clear my doubts.

1. Exams as soon as possible. You want to have your application and CV ready as early as possible.
2. If you decide that you need USCE, then do it as soon as possible to get good letters.
3. You want the best scores that you can get.

hi bbb,
how important is it to have the ECFMG certificate before applying through eras? im planning to apply at the beggining of september with step 1 and 2 scores and CS taken in july (i don't think i'll have my CS results by then). what will happen when I'll get my certificate (october probably)? do I have to send this update to all programs again? or should I wait until october and apply certified?

Just make certain that when you apply to ERAS, that you check the box to have everything updated when available.
