A 55 yr old woman with SLE and antiphospholipid syndrome presents with worsening fatigue and dyspnea that pevents her from working or doing strenous housework.Physical examn is remarkable for a holosystolic murmur and an S3 heart sound.Echo shows severe MR.Mitralvalve replacement is recommended.If the surgery is sucessful,which of the changes in ventricular function will most likely occur?

A.Ejection fraction and Left ventricular systolic pressure -Both fall
B.EF-rise LVSP- rise

This patient has heart failure in which EF decreases and LVSP decreases (due to MR) so MV replacement will increase them.

maybe co in mr most of blood flowing back so preload onn heart is increasing so the heart has 2 pump more blood,hence ef wud increase,n sinse in mr most of of blood flows back into atrium hence lvsp is low,so in vavle replacement ef woud decrese n lvsp wud increase......
