I have received 25 invitations. But I decided to go to only to 5 places for interviews. I first thought the ratio of to <first year positions> is the determinant of how easy the program is to enter. But some unpopular programs may have to do lots of interviews to fill the positions. Then I thought the ratio of to <positions> is better determinant. But can anyone think of better determinat? Some programs become unfilled almost every year. If I go to these programs for interviews, and rank them in my rank order list, what are chances that I will match? Even these programs do not rank all the candidates in the list?

Some words are missing in my original question: I first thought the ratio of to <first year positions> is the determinant of how easy the program is to enter. But some unpopular programs may have to do lots of interviews to fill the positions. Then I thought the ratio of to <positions> is better determinant. --------------- My scores 83/85 I applied to FP.

They still go missing. So I write the essential parts alone. the ratio of (interviews conducted for 1st yr positions) to (1st year positions) the ratio of (unmatched positions) to (first year positions)
