I got my results a few days back but got my computer back today..I scored an 84/207..I wont write "NOT AN IDEAL SCORE...blah blah blah"...in my circumstances,in my situation,with a mental and physical capacity like mine..its an ideal score .I am really happy alhamdullilah.Life sure has given me a good chance to persue my dreams..I will work harder for step 2.
one myth that actually fooled me and no one had ever had this experience before on the usmle websites was that"nbme tests are not meant to be repeated"...
on my first nbme I scored 420,second form I scored 440=83,on third I scores 360,then I decided to retake form 1(HUGE MISTAKE)and scored 510(so deceiving),retook form 2,scored 530..(again a big deceivng score)...so the actual score correlated to actual form 2..so guys ,one humble advice...donot waste your nbme forms...attempt only when u r fully prepared.I thought I am ready to get atleast 90 due to second nbme scores...but that was not the case..so its pretty official now...nbme correlates with where u stand..trust me!
I am really happy that I didnot pass with a 75 as things have happened to many people and they were brighter than what I am..first I was tempted to add two or three points to the actual score and tell you I got an 88 or 86...but then I promised I will tell the truth so I have an 84..and I AM blessed and thankful to God.if I could be of any help,donot hesitate to ask.I will try my best to help with whatever resources i have.GL/

Malinda, good to hear from you and congratulations on your score. yes we all hoped for the 90's for you but 84 is a good one too. how is your new place? and your family.

Congratulations Malinda, And thanks a lot for the NBME advice.
The good thing is u are done with step 1 and now don't have to worry about it . I think in this whole process of getting to residency this is the first step and u passed it with a pretty good score[ even passing one step boost your moral so high !!] plus got a lots of experince for preparing these exams. Make use of all the experince u get in preparing and PASSING this exam for your step 2 prep and I am sure u will ACE it.

CONGRATULATION MALINDA. I m really happy for U . welldone. Dont think about 84 as low score just thanks to ALLAH. one of my friend recently took step 1 and he got just 76. So dont worry over this score. U can improve ur score in step 1. BEst of luck for your step 2. MAY ALLAH BLESS UPON U AND YOUR FAMILY.

Congratulations, thats really awesome that u have passed and are on to step 2. Just one question what was ur q-bank scores like and did u use First Aid and was it helpful. Thank you, best of luck with step 2.
