5L is vital capacity (max insp + max exp)
total capacity is: vital capacity (is this the english term?) plus the volume that stays in the lungs after max expiration (sorry i don't know the english term for this - something like residual volume??) so answer should be 6L
right?

I think there is a mistake in the Q. in the stem of the Q they say that there is a table and they dont show any table. and in the explanation also they say that you dont have to memorise the volumes but should know how to draw a normal lung capacity graph and then looking at the table with values you will ans the Q correct. I agree. but for that we need a table with values to substitute. I had also calculated and arrived at an ans of 5L but they say the ans is 4L so now I think that they have missed to show the table confused

one more possibility: they have miss calculated the ans...so my next Q can there be wrong answers in Q bank? as I have come across a wrong answer in webpath. I just do not want to learn a wrong thing.

the Q I had posted under the title "qbankQ CVS" is also controversial. or may be I did not understand it. but the Q bank explanation points to the ans I opted for as the right one but shows a different choice as the answer!!!!
someone pls help....

now i see it.
when i looked at the question stem the first time i just have not seen the H,
thats why i got confused.
what i meant with E was actually D+E which is given as H. so everything correct. smiling face

There are some very crazy questions with wrong answers in the latest Q bank (I have done only Physio so far). I assumed that since I have just finished 1st reading, I did n't do well. But, I realized that the average of the Q bank takers is very less on these Qs when compared to the regular/ usual average.
