Hi all, Its kinda surprising that after being a pretty frequent visitor to this forum, I finally registered today! I have been visiting this forum from the time a residency in US was still an evloving idea for me...till today, when I have finally landed a residency..having "waded" through the likes of USMLE and USCE and US LOR...the three things that keep throbbing inside the mind and psyche of every IMG... I decided to initiate this thread since I see a lot of misconception (any pun is purely co-incidental and totally un-intentional! ) all around that the minimum scores required to get into IM residency is 95+..et al. While we all know that it is the whole package of the 3 "Us" (USMLe, USCE and US LOR) that matter..I think it would be great to provide the new guys, who have just filled in our struggling shoes, some idea of the scores only...as this is what I believe what freaks most people around: atleast, I have seen sooooooooo many people in soooooooooo many forums asking for minimum scores..whether their scores are good enough for IM...whether anything less than 90 is ok..or should they forget IM..etc,. I suggest: Step 1 score/attempts Step 2 score/attempts CS/attempts...and Visa Status (GC v/s H1/J1) You may include the place you matched if you wish... Lemme begin with myself: Step1 - 91/1st attempt Step2 CK 95/1st attempt CS passed/1st attempt... Needed Visa Accepted pre-match.. Thanks! Hope this helps all.

Surprising..35 views..no replies..guys, I know this post sounds boring...but do you remember the uncertainities we all felt about our scores when we were out there...atleast, I was not among the onces able to brag of a 99/99, and I always had this nagging doubt if my scores were good enough... Thats why I felt that if we had a string listing only the scores ...it would address these doubts..which have no clear answers... Please do respond.....

Thats true apurva...but very few people in the not-so-stellar ranges..i mean 85s to 90s have actually posted..and I dont think that they have remained unmatched either....and it is this population which is the most vulnerable to doubts.... So I hoped that some of these people would come up and mention their scores and their matched status...and allay the nagging doubt contained in the million dollar question..."Will I match??"
