How would you differentiate factitious hyperthyroidism from Grave's disease (according to thyroid function tests)?

It is a good question. I guess you could look for antibodies to thyroid in grave's disease, they should be absent in facticitious disorder. Am i right..

Common to both Grave's and factitious Hyperthyroidism is :Serum T4 increased ; Decreased TSH; Increased T 4 BR; Increased F T 4 I. The only difference is that grave's shows increased uptake of I 131 whereas factitious hyperthyroidism shows decreased uptake of I 131.
