Hi, Docs.

I graduated my med school in Feb. 2006.
And I did my clinical clerkship in the States for 2 months right after that.

At first, I hope I can apply for 2007 matching, but I think I can't make it.
(At first, my clerkship was for only one month, but I could do my rotation one more month. My initial plan was step 2 cs in early April, step 1 in July, step 2 ck in early September.)

My rotation will end in late-April, and I will take USMLE step 2 CS in early-May.

I have to take step 1 & step 2 ck, and in my thought, I need more time to prepare them.
(I guess.. step 1 in September and step 2 ck in december..? But..I'm not sure. )

I think it would be great for me if I take some job in research area before I apply for residency.

I know it's hard to publish a journal in 1-2 year, but that(publishing) is not my purpose, I just want to get a job in medical field in the States.

I need some advices from you Docs about that.

Some people said to me, that will be kind of wasting-time.
I'm not sure about that.

And I have some inquires about research job.

I got M.D. in Asia, and have some (NOT MUCH) research experience in my school.
(And I don't have citizenship of USA or greencard. )

Can I apply for "research associate"?
or
Should I apply for "research assistant or lab technician or medical technologist (lab)"?
or
Can I apply for "postdoctoral fellow" ?

Thank you for your time.

u cud try for a 2007 match..

but probably a more practical thing would be to NOT rush over ur steps and be in a stronger position wih all scores in hand at the time of applying for 2008 match.
