Eyes can be so pretty but so confusing too :shock: ! :roll: Does anyone know that though the superior oblique muscle: ABDUCTS, INTORTS and makes the eye look DOWN but to check its action (in suspected trochlear nerve palsy) we ask the patient to ADDUCT first and then look down>>>> so why adduct?? Same thing goes for inferior oblique: Action: ABDUCT, EXTORTS and makes the eye look UP. While testing: ADDUCT and look up.>>why adduct?? :?: Pls. let me know if you know Thanx

Hi, No body answered me :'( nvm. Anyway, i don't know why they do like this for testing the eyes. well.. does anybody know that how much of ophthalomology is tested on step 2... is it tested atall? and do we need to get some book for it? i heard somewhere that on step 2 there are some questions which shows you fundoscopic images and all.. ?!??!?? Can anyone pls. guide on the ophtha.. thank you

hey, i took the test about a month ago and there were few ?'s about eyes... but none of them were about the muscles and the moxn... the ?'s mainly were about the papiloedema and the headaches assocoated w/ them .. other than that ... it was mostly internal medicine..... good luck .. ps i still dont know my answer .
