Hi platinum, I would do kaplan qbank. I did it before UW actually, and I'm glad I did, it has a lot of useful info. a second choice (if u still have some time left after qbank.....) would be pretest, I heard they are good. Good luck

Hi kapQbank, if still time left an extra revn of UW notes or just relax. I think that rest of the Qns you mentioned might nhave been helpful in initial stages, they help you memorize kaplan, they make u better prepared for tackling UW Qns.But now at this stage you should not deviate from standard Qns. I went thru pretests(months ago when exam was nowhere in sight), they are WAY-OFF from focussed usmle prep. They can be useful in stimulating your brain initially, not now. You r a lucky guy, 10 days extra!!!

I used dermatlas.com while reading dermatology and it helped me retain better by associating the disease with a picture. if you feel you don;t have a good grasp on derma, you can try that. How's everybody doing.....I hope you are all well, everyday we're getting closer and closer to our freedom. only few days for me...6 actually and I can't wait. this week I'll take it easy on studying, just review my notes for a quick last time and keep my qs solving technique up with few more qs left from qbook and pretest. sunday, the day before exam, i'll go hiking....hehe. I'll pretend I haven't even heard of USMLE, I'll wake up early, have a nice weekend breakfast, and go out in the woods. This is my strategy to exhaust myself the day before, so that I'll have a good sleep that night. Good luck to all of you!!

Chickimi hi Metronidazole "cream". I believe that should be the real answer(UW). Kap says oral metro is OK.------- My expln is that depends on Qn. If choices dont have metro cream, then u can pick up Metro oral because in first chapter of kap obs, FDA category X andD do not include metro. If the drug is in either X or D, its absolute no no in preg. Other category, then "maybe" ok.

I finished UW 3 weeks before my exam and I did one last reading of every subject afterwards ( my fourth reading). I personally don't think you need a lot of time after UW, unless you do qbank or another bank. the qs are fresh in your mind, the practice of doing qs in a fast pace is fresh, and if you took notes of the qs u got wrong in UW, another reading of the kaplan books plus reading your notes (once, twice, or however many times u feel like) is enough. I actually read those notes twice and i'll do another reading in the last 2 days of prep. but in the end....use the strategy that suits you the most and u think it's best. good luck!

Hi, I really think it differs w/ each person. Once you start revision ,your gut feling will tell you. Since my UW score was 62-63 % only, i think i had to take more detailed notes and am taking longer time. If your UW scores are great, like yours and Alina's, maybe you shoul not spend too much time, 3-4 weeks max. But i have to use UW as a tool to increase my grasp over subjects, so i am taking longer time. Got u confused?Let your gut feeling guide you.

Thx a lot. My UW IM & PSY score was good--but i scored 62% in surgery .Now doing obgyn-let's see how it goes.I really want to take the test earlier but i dn't think my prep is good enough to make me confident about doing that. I think after my 2nd review of UW &3rd review of kp I'll take NBME & then take a decision(although i;ve already taken a date) about that. Best of luck to u all.

hi guys , gave nbme , scored low , so i had to postpone my exam for another 1 month , thought step 2 is easier than step 1 , but it is turning other way round ., doing UW again , then a grasp of subject again , i wanna put the best of efforts from now on , i had some personal problems for the last one month , got over it , now concentrating on the subjects

Did kap-simulated. Got a depressing 73% overall. 11th to 18th june= study, 19th=take nbme1 and then decide if to take exam on 30th or postpone it. Postponing exam means postponing my cs on 20th july as well, there goes my chance of residency this year. What to do 11th to 18th= what you have not done after UW- neuro, paeds, respi and endo, psych. 5days. do some Qns 2-3 blocks everyday. And revise medicine.3days.
