A 38-year-old woman is now 6 months postpartum, but has not resumed menstruation. She did not breast feed; in fact, she was unable to do so because she did not form milk. Preeclampsia and uterine atony causing an estimated blood loss of 1200 mL within 3 hours after the birth of her child complicated her pregnancy. The uterine atony responded to uterine massage and intramuscular ergot injections.
what is the most likely condition associated with this patient?
