I just got my step 1 score today. It's 219/89.
Do I still have a chance to get in Internal Medicine Program?
What I should do with my step 2?
Please help me. I am so frustated now because I've heard that if you are IMG, then you shold get above 90.

It is wrong to say that above 90 scores are required to land a IM residency for IMGs ...though, a good score could land you more interviews
What you could do to improve chances is get some US Clinical Experience like Externships (better) or evenObserverships
and ofcourse ..give ur best shot for a step 2..
others things matter too ..like applying on time (in the first week of sept) !

89 is not a bad score dude..in 2005 many guys with low 80s matched into IM programs too..
another advise is to apply to Family Practice progrmas too as a backup..

The score isn't a bad score. What to do for step 2? Study your butt off and get the best score that you can get.

Your score is fine.My brother took 87 et S1 and took S2 as well and now is doing an observership and a lot of hospitals accepted him.
So don t worry at all just keep on learning for S2 but don t rush.

my step-1 score was only 90 and my friends step-1 score was 84 and step-2 90 and he matched at metrohealth.
Dont worry 89 is a good score,provided u get 90 and above in step-2 u can still dream of a university programme.
