I was told at a Kaplan centre that they have 2004 notes and none have been published in 2006 even in the U.S. Is this true?

In case the 2006 notes have been published and I use the 2004 materials for study, will I be at a disadvantage?

Can I use 2004 First Aid (for 2006)?

Please help.

Hey Frontal, don't worry, I am using 2002 kaplan notes, I can't afford to upgrade, so I guess your 2004 won't put you in a disadvantage.

In another post, they told me that FA 2005 was better than 2004, because it was organized diferently and it was much better, hope this helps.

I USE KAPLAN NOTES 2002 , AND THEY ARE ALSO GOOD

Medicine have not changed much since 2002. So, Kaplan will never invent new medicine, I mean 2002 notes are enough and if there is any difference it will be so tiny and you will compensate from the Q bank.

Do not worry, be happy.

Best luck.

Frontal,

I have a 2002 set of the Kaplan books and compared them against a friend's 2006-2007 books, which she got when she signed up for the live course. There's very little difference between the 2002 and the 2006 sets. Most of the differences are only in formatting, not in content. However, there are some small changes in contet -- esp. in the Pharmacology book. For example, they've added newer drugs here or there -- but you have to really look to find any differences.
Shame on Kaplan for failing to keep their books up-to-date. But then they did such a good job on the books the first time (esp. for Biochem!)
If you use old Kaplan books plus First Aid and Qbank, I'm sure you'll hardly be at a disadvantage compared to those using the newest books. At least that's what I'm doing.

Best of luck!

How many Q you will get in your exam from the new topics in Kaplan? I think you will find every thing in FA 2006. Study the basics then add the newer if any..

Thanks a lot everyone. I'm not familiar with the Q banks yet. At the centre they'll give me a Q bank CD (for quite a pricesmiling face). How many questions does a (kaplan) Q bank contain and how many Q banks is it advisable to solve? Please help, again...

...and good luck to all you folks.

I went to kaplan center to see their real book. Of the 7 lecture notes, 3-4 are 2006-2007 edition(anatomy, biochem, pharmacology, not sure about behavior science), others are 2004 edition.
