well, I just wanna say that this forum rocks, and I have been visiting almost every week for the last year, and reading about feedback and exam experiences. I am a 3rd year in Guadalajara, Mexico, and thank god I just got my scores after three tortorous weeks. First of all, this exam is very doable if you put in your time and study the material. I took the Kaplan Live course provided through my school and used the Kaplan notes exclusively for my studies. I read them three times with varying intensity, and put in my important notes in the 2005 edition of First Aid. I studied for like 6 months during which time I also finished w/ Qbank, averaging around 60-70% towards the end. I gotta say though I didn't feel Qbank qusestions where similar to the real exam, but much more difficult. The questions that were similar and right on the money were the NBME questions. I think i had like two or three questions repeat. NBME 1 206 and NBME 2 195, which had a really strong correlation to the my actual score of 206. I think everyone should take the NBME to gauge themselves and test their readiness. I postponed my exam twice in fear of not being ready, but ultimately u are never ready and you reach your saturation point. Now for the real exam, I slept pretty good teh night before, and went to the exam fresh and ready to go. I was expecting to be nervous once the clock started ticking in the first block, but I was pleasantly surprised with myself. Once I started answering, I just felt like i was in the zone, I wasn't nervous at all, and it was like doing question back in my study room in my apt. People say that they didn't feel good during the exam, but I was feeling rather good, and I finished each block with time to spare. I read the question and I went for the most common answer, and didn't waste my time going for the complicated or twisted answer. If I didn't know the answer in my first read of the question, I tried another time, and I still couldn't figure it out, i just picked the one my head and gut were saying was right. I didn't feel that there were any tricky questions, but only questions that you are suppose to know. Ofcourse, there were question that I had never heard of, but I just guessed on those and moved on. I came out fo the center knowing that I had enough to pass, and that it would be really high score or middle of the road. I am happy with my score, and knowing the fact that I don't have study those books again, cause after a while you started hating them. I am open to any questions so feel free to ask away. PJ
