The question asks the most cost effective drug not the best effective drug. Augumentin is sooooooo expensive and causes diarrhea and severe GI problems in women and children and even me ! The answer is related to how the question is asked

Amoxil is cheap but not amoxil-clavulate acid (It is called Augumentin and is very expensive. Please DO not confuse Amoxil and Augmentin in America. One is 20 bucks and the other is 70 bucks to 140 bucks for 2 weeks of sinus infection !
