its not important to get 99 or 95 in the exam,,,both will enable you to have a good apportunity in the match....then why every one wants to have 99?!!its because we always search to know our limits...how much we can get or what we are able to acheive..
I feel I have thousands of Ideas to write in this field..but I prefer to waite untill the end of my exam day on 26 of april for some ideas to be complete and for the day of recieving my score sheet for other ideas to be fully grown
untill those two days come...this thread heartly welcomes the addition of your invaluable ideas

keep your head high in the clouds and feet firmly on the ground.
2 weeks left to exam is not the ideal time to philosophise upon if its right or wrong to get the highest possible score w/ highest possible (depending on individual) prep

because 99 is maximal 2-digit score and 95 is just high 2-digit score.
of course, 99 isn't our limit - there are low 99s and high 99s (I mean 3-digit scores corresponding to them), for example, 245 and 280; but even 280 isn't maximum - top limit for the USMLE just doesn't exist:

Guys: thankyou all for your advices and encouagement...actually this is my try to make a full experiment including preexam feeling...
P53 : I read your topic in the link and I think USMLE as a comprehensive examination tests everything including how much you are delicate and dedicated in your study ,your IQ , how much stable and patient you are,are you able to control your stress and anxiety during the exam..etc
by the way:if someone have done kaplan Q.book:do you have the feeling that OBS|GYN are too easy in this book?

samerhasna, I agree with you - USMLE tests much more than just medical knowledge - just read exam experiences and you will be sure about that - otherwise, how it could be explained that one person got 99 and other - only 79, if they have done EXACTLY the same job - the same resources, which they have read the same number of times, in the same amount of time? only explanation could be that there are other factors (yes, IQ, for example) which have strong influence on the end result, not just how many times have you read your 'Kaplan Lecture Notes'.

in the last match season , i know two guys one with 89/96 and the other with 98/99...both without USCE , some programs invited the later guy but not the first one although they both have a relatively high scores....it seems that this small differences in scores play their role...

Ur scores get you the interviews and 98/99 will get you more interviews than 89/96 especially to non- img friendly programs......
