Hello partners!
I'm from Guayaquil, sure there are not many of us Ecuadorians around here, but would be nice to keep us in touch, and scratch each others back... Hell! if Mexicans, Indians, Chineses, and so on do it, we must show our comaradeship. May be we can gather sometime and talk about our progress.

Well... since it seems that nobody else from Ecuador is here, I'll make a small Ecuadorian journal ...
Yesterday started the world cup... Germany 2006, and my team played against Poland...
ECUADOR 2 - POLAND 0
I is our second time in a world cup, and we were against all odds, but hell they did it!!!! Head with head with Germany leading the group. WOW!!!! next is against the hosts and again we are against the odds...but who know 
Just imagine the hell of a party I just missed for not being in Guayaquil right now.. *sigh*

Among other things... Patch Adams visited Guayaquil to asist poor people at local hospitals... According to the newspaper his personality is the same as the one played by Robin Williams, and wear the red clown nose the whole visit. Somehow I just don't feel comfortable with the way he expresses himself about the regular physician... COLD AND ONLY MONEY IN MIND... but anyway, the sacrifice he does for the needed is admirable.

Hi Isther, i hope you don't mind if i write some lines here because it's only for Ecuatorianos. Congratulations for the game today, against the odds, great!! 2-0. Tomorrow sunday is our turn (MEXICO vs Iran).
About Patch Adams. I think it's admirable but maybe he says physicians are cold and only money in mind because he knows much more to american/US doctors. Many of them are really like that. Many american med students choose their speciality because they are supposed to make more $ there and not because they like that field or not. I think it's usually different in other countries. But of course, it varies.

Chemamr: about the Patch Adams thing... I'm sure there are many doctors like that, but I never liked generalizations, certainly not everybody think the same way. Several groups of doctors (americans more than europeans) visit the served areas of my country, 2- 3 times per year helping really messed people (free surgeries, medicines, etc, and most of the time paying with their own money). Maybe is difficult to think about the needed when there is no one like that around you.
