Hi, I am applying for J-1 visa and thinking of going back home for 2 years (2 Yr HRR). My question is, Is it easy/hard to get job in USA(on H1) after I have completed my 2 year HRR ? Anyone in same shoes ? Thanks in Advance.

This year, it's been easier for my finishing residents on J1 visas to find employment than for my finished residents on H1b visas. They haven't even had to do the 2 years back home. Complete reversal from a few years ago.

Hi bhag: could you explain your situation a bit more. Are you already matched to a program?

Yes I have already matched and being offered J1 only. There are two options for J1 as I understand 1. After residency, get into J1 waiver program for 3 or 4 yrs 2. Go back to home country for 2 or more years If for whatever reason I could not get a waiver, I will have to go for option 2. If I decide to come back to USA after 2 years, would there be jobs available on H1 ?
