don't use robbins for step 1, just as a reference. stick to review books like brs path or goljan rapid review and his audio lectures

'ROBBINS & COTRAN PATHOLOGIC BASIS OF DISEASE' is too detailed for USMLE step 1 - use other books from the ROBBINS family:
'ROBBINS BASIC PATHOLOGY' (just sufficient details for very high score) in combination with 'ROBBINS AND COTRAN REVIEW OF PATHOLOGY' (best pathology MCQs).

about other books - read my exam experience:

actually im doing my 2nd year MBBS & i read pathologic basis of disease. will it be better if i study for preparing for usmle right from now.(i mean read all those books right now.)
if i have to order goljan what should i do. because when i gave 'golan' for search on ebay,it showed ZERO search-results
