There was an 82 yr old man who has mild shortness of breath past 3 months after beginning bleomycin for cancer. SO I am thinking PULMONARY FIBROSIS right? Then I think RESTRICTIVE LUNG DISEASE. The answers have three columns: FEV1/FVC, diffusing capacity, total lung volume. I immediately look at FEV1/FVC column because restrictive has an INCREASED ratio. Only one answer! Great! But the answer also says that total lung volume is INCREASED which is NOT the case in restrictive. So now I think maybe I should pick the NO CHANGE for FEV1/FVC ration and DECREASE total lung volume as is the case for ANY RESTRICTIVE lung disease! Which should I choose?!

Try another choice has: normal (or decreased) FEV1/FVC , decreased diffusion, decreased TLC
