Hi there
I have been doing research in USA since 2002 on a H1b visa. I want to apply for residency for 2007 match but so far little progress has been made on our green card application. I've heard that the H1b is only for 6 years max - would the fact that I've had already 4 years put off program directors? Conversely, would it be a help, since in theory could it be classed as a switch of employer? I am planning to apply for a very competitive surgical specialty and will be doing Step 3 later this year.
any advice would be appreciated.
