I hope you did not try the trick before your score has been reported to Oasis ,it takes 4-6 weeeks after your exam to trick work ,unless it lets you to apply again...

Don't feel so down, wait for your scores then go from there.
Even if it has happened the key is to remain persistant no matter what.
Take some time off then recollect yourself and try again. Best of luck!

I just got my scores in the mail on Friday...Jan. 30th and I failed AGAIN...3rd time. I got a 177 and we all know I needed a 182...5 QUESTIONS. I am frusterated too, but there is a review course at KUMC....university of Missouri at KC. They have a 16 week course on now and a 4 week course in May and a 9 week course in Sept. The 4 week course is supposed to be meant for people with scores of 170 and above, but I think I am going to take the 9 week course since my MATCH will be pushed back ....AGAIN. I know how frusterated you are, but give yourself time to grieve....again, and then hold your head up and remember you are on you own path and don't think about anyone else's path or the other students in your class.

Good luck.
Here is the website to the review courses:

hi, failure hurts.sure, it will affect your morale, but you realise that you are so very close to the success. i dont call that a failure, i prefer to call that a setback........... you can take heart from the fact that since you are so close , next attempt becomes that much more easier to you. and the better part of it is, you are still with in chance of getting a 90+ score! now suppose you have got those 5 questions right, and passed with 75!, you cant change that for 7 years!!. so ,you have every right to be happy and realise that you are studying the subjects one more time which will help you in becoming a better physician for lifetime!
i have passed my step1, and realise how a 3 hour performance can make/mar your status as a student. we are all with you my friend, go ahead and march ahead to TREMENDOUS SUCCESS!!!!

Hey keep ur spirits high.. I heard the Kansas CIty course is well run and strenous!! Good Luck and let us all know how it goes. How is your med school handling it? B/C I have also failed 3 times and am considering the same course. but my med school may not take me back. In which case I have to find a school that will accept me and my failures and allow me to retake the exam. please help

Hey lostandfrustrated,

I know exactly how you feel...I just failed too (for the first time)....had a 173...but I only studied for 2 and a half months and I know my knowledge in most subjects was borderline....I felt bad for two days but I'll start again and take step 1 in August or September....
BUT don't be frustrated!!!!!! When did you take the exam? Perhaps you tried the OASIS trick too early....

AND above all don't give up.....I think it is doable and there are sooooo many of us doing it several times!

My friend in Germany said there are so many things in life more important than the USMLE! And she's right!!!!!

All the best 4 u,

Sabine
