how have you managed to get 272 / 99 ???
with 2.5 months of preparation only?
I have made some calculations here - your score is 2.26 Standard Deviations above of mean for recent US/Canadian registrants - first time step 2 CK test takers (SD - 23, mean - 220; for IMGs mean is much lower) - this means that only 1% of US/Can graduates have received scores higher than yours - you have got not only 99 (2-digit score) but also 99 percentile!
please, share with us your prep & exam experience - it would be very helpful.
what are your next steps to the residency? I guess with 253/99 for step 1 and 272/99 for step 2 CK you'll rock the match 2007!

Hey all....the person most surprised by the score is me...i was hoping for a score in 250s, but when my score card arrived yday, i couldnt beleive it...
i thought of writing my experience, but then i have read posts by wamba, kingsofke, lisa and their logs, and i can tell, listen to them, take down everything they have written down and try to be as dedicated as possible...
well, i dont think i should boast of doing step 2 in 2 and half months..i have an MD in int medicine from my country and that really helped. i had to concentrate only on surgery , gynec. , peds. But my advice is multiple readings of same matter( kaplan notes) helps much more than single reading of many resources...solving questions is a big key..try to solve as many qu as many times...keep a block of qu every night when u r really sleepy..this will help u on the exam day especially in that 6th and 7th block when the mind refuses to process...
I took nbme 1 and 2 on the same day...400 qu in 8 hrs...i think it helped be confident that i had the stamina for the real marathon...the exam was weird..i guessed on every other qu, unlike the nbmes...so i was not sure at all of how i did, but i had read from previous experiences, many feel that way, and my nbme scores were ok...
this forum gave me so much, in terms of knowledge, tactics, friends...i am indebted...p53..i hope u rock step 2 CK even more...good luck...Doc2378 thank u and good luck to u,...kingsofke...u r the champion..period.
so yes...officially done with yet another step...answered CS on 16th march...waiting on that...planning to enjoy a good summer....

What can I say - you raised the standards too high for IMG's .GOOD GOOD
what is your step-1 score just curious
come with a similar score in step-3 sky is the limit for u.

So as a summary: Focus in 1 source (eg. Kaplan), do as many questions, and work very hard ...am I right?

rasul, u'll be fine...u r answering all qu so well...just keep revising till the end, keep solving qu..good luck. no one can be dead confident of doing great on this exam, thats how the USMLE is structured...keep cool, remember...u r a doctor, u have dealt with far greater stress...this is just another exam.
