Goljan 500page notes Cell Injury chapter p.16 says Pretibial Myxedema in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves disease. Kaplan Patho (Endocrine chapter) says: Pretibial Myxedema in Graves, and Myxedema in Hypothyroidism. My Q is which is right? Is there pretibial myxedema in both HYPER and HYPO thyroidsm, or is it mainly a feature of HYPOthyroidism, and does the cause (deposition of GAG's) have anything to do with Thyroid Hormone levels???? Thanks.
