I wish you all the best of luck and to get the highest score you ever dreamt of...

Main source: Kaplan series 2002 for all subjects and their webprep plus Goljan Review (stars) for pathology (i don't have goljan audios i need somebody to make me a favor and snd them to me).

Adjunctive books:high yield in neuroanatomy, histology and immunology

Questions books: Q book and Q bank, pretest and NMS test book.

that's all...waiting everybody telling us about his book source for step 1..

Think you should change your path source. Pick BRS or goljan rapid review, stars pathology was written by goljan himself I havent read it, but I have this idea that is not board relevant. The rest you will be fine.

vallia, I don't recommend 'BRS pharmacology' - outdated with accents on the low-yield stuff; get 'Road Map: Pharmacology', by Katzung, 2nd ed. 2005, 170p. instead.

  #8

this is what im usin for my prep

kaplan 2005 for every thing, except for Behav.Science usin BRS and Pathology, usin goljan 500 pages + his lectures , and First Aid , will be gettin Qbank for my Q source . and thats it , just goin to do these thing very well.

shilahk i think kaplan pathology is a complete waist of time , im not sure how goljan (stars) path is never seen it , but i know the rapid review or the 500 pages notes r good , if u can get them that should be ur first choice , other wise stick to BRS path , but dont wiast ur time on kaplan.

shilahk , the 500 pages notes is BIG file , i have tried to send it to alot of ppl but it never worked , i actualy got it when i bought the kaplan dvds from some guy and he gave this cd with so many extra things , then i spend 2 days just printin the whole thing out , but u can buy the rapid review and do that cover to cover , i think its better in the sence that its very organized ...... and if i would have known of the rapid review i would have just bought it and used that with his audio lectures .

hope t

hi penshoppe..i like your set of books...

but which goljan are u using??stars, 500 apges..or what??

good luck

  #17

hi everyone iam using kaplan for physio,pharm,beh.sci.,biochem,hy for all anatomy, micro from mrs., & patho from stars goljan i have 500 pages too but they are very point to point if you are a person who can get through points then it is excellent i am an old graduate so i need some text to understand & read i like stars goljan patho i listened his audio too & stars patho is word to word his audio lec so i think book plus audio is ok too,500 pages are very good too but it is very difficult to memorize at least for me .

for qs i am using q book & q bank only will do nbme for analysis thats it i think reading one book per subject is better than lost in so many.

  #18

and ofcourse first aid........forgot to mention.

  #19

i need goljan audio badly please help

what is mrs microbiology? what is the best suggested book for microbiology?

i find the kaplan series too 'concentrated' but after i read other 'easier' text and come back to kaplan,i find it easier to understand. i guess it is because iam an old grad so a lot of the stuff is new to me. the kaplan series contain virtually all the information one needs.

i am using

all kaplan 2002 notes
pharm.. lippincott (beautiful and easy to follow)
HY behav
HY Neuro
cli neuroanat made rid easy
FA
brs patho (1993 .. too old???)
goljan 500 and audio (awaiting delivery)
cracking the board ( not a good book. too simplistic. no attention to detail. will not recommend it)
rapid preparation (not opened it yet!!)
ucv....pathophysiology, biochem,micro
