yeah here u have got a point
but if we don't share the exact one
just ideas as to what it should have &what not
it may turn out to be good discussion
ofcourse one should never copy lines from any sites
it should be original &what so ever ur story ur journey in this tedious path to residency
&ur story ur life can never be same as anyone on this earth
for u are unique
God made u as u so u are special there is no one like u
so ur PS can be like no one else

That makes me feel a little better - people talk about their 95~99 achievement on the web and that really depresses me. I got both in 80s and graduated a long time ago and almost started crying when I read the requirements on the hospital webs...

hello guys

sorry i have not responded to any of the questions. i am in india now and where i am from its kind of hard to get to a computer all the time. anyway i think that you guys missed the point. what i was trying to tell you is this. grades are important. but not to the extent that it makes or breaks you. my personal statement was about me and what was going on in my life from the onset to the actual acceptance into residency. i know for sure that the 99 thing on usmles are not as important as before because the boards are exactly what they are and tha is an exam you need to get a license and residency and thats it and most hospitals have figured that into there hiring residents. what you are as a doctor cannot be made clear with an exam like the usmle. i actually went to the interview and was at first uncomfortable and then felt so comfortable i started cracking jokes. anyway posting my personal statement is pointless. what worked for me will not work for you because we are all different. just make it what it should be a personal statement about you.

good luck
